TRACK - JANUARY, 2006 ISSUE

For Immediate Release
SCCA Announces Rate and Dues Increases For 2006
TOPEKA, Kan. (Dec. 20, 2005) – Sports Car Club of America, Inc. has announced increases in membership, Club Racing sanctions and entry fees effective for the 2006 season. The increases were approved by the SCCA Board of Directors at its December meeting.
For the first time in four years, membership dues will increase beginning in February. A regular membership, not including regional dues, will increase by $5, from $55 to $60. Spouse memberships will also increase $5, up to $20 and a family membership will increase by $10 to $95. First Gear and Military memberships remain unchanged.

The Board cited an increase in the cost of doing business over the last four years and noted that the increase was less than the annual cost of living increase over the same period.

Additionally, Club Racing sanctions for 2006 increase $150 each, with a National sanction now $700, a Regional sanction now $450 and a double Regional sanction now $750. Club Racing sanctions have not increased since 2004.

While Solo sanctions, which increased in 2005, will remain static for 2006, Road Rally sanctions also increased from $175 to $200.

Entry fees increased for both of the National Solo program series as well as the Club Racing Runoffs.
The Tire Rack® SCCA Solo National increases ($3 for National Tour and $12 for ProSolo) are partially offset by the end of the need for a ProSolo license.

The SCCA National Championship Runoffs® entry fee increased from $300 to $350. Among the reasons cited for the change are a number of event enhancements, along with the possibility of adding an eighth day to the event.

Complete minutes from the December Board of Directors meeting are available in February’s FasTrack.
