The Dual National at Nelson Ledges - Sandi Kryder

Well it is over.  We only had 117 cars for our National.  Neohio did not fair much better.  There were probably a lot of reasons for this.  Scheduling did not help.  Summit Point moved their national up by over a month and chose the weekend before our national.  Mid Ohio was the weekend after ours.  High fuel cost most likely contributed as well.   We lost a few drivers just before the event because of the BOD's decision to combine a bunch of classes in 2009 or 2010.  Unfortunately, the driver's chose this event to boycott in protest.  Which basically only hurt the regions putting on the event.  The BOD probably never even knew about little boycott.   The 4 day event ran fairly smoothly.  There were only 2 incidents which caused any down time.

MARRS 2008

The Double MARRS event is scheduled for July 12-13th.

I urge all of our members to either come out and work or race.  It is a very busy weekend what with the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix at BeaveRun, the Watkins Glen National and NASA at Mid Ohio.

And the most important reason - it will be the last MVR event at Nelson's this year.  More to come on that.

MVR National Driver Watch

GT1

Amy Ruman won the MVR National and the Neohio National.  Bob Ruman won the Mid Ohio National.  They passed on the BeaveRun National because Amy was going to the June Sprints.  She had been there many times but never to race.  She qualified 5th out of about 30 GT1 cars.   Amy was in 4th, about to take over the 3rd spot, when the car started feeling funny.  Turns out she had a broken control arm.  She finished 8th.

Csaba Bujdoso finished 3rd in both the MVR National and the Neohio National.

GT-Lite

Bill Pintaric finished 2nd at the MVR National and had to settle for a 4th after his transmission broke.  Bill won the Mid Ohio National and the BeaveRun National.

E Production

Gary Martz won the MVR National and finished 3rd at the Neohio National.
