TRACK - SEPTEMBER, 2006 ISSUE

2006 ELECTIONS

The MVR 2006 elections will be open for nomination at the September Membership.  Nominations and elections  take place at the October Membership Meeting.

CHECKERED FLAG

Long time MVR member Kim Rost passed away on August 30th.  Kim was MVR's Chief of T&S and held several other offices of the club over the years.  She also kept track of the Nelson Ledges Road Course Lap Records prior to moving back to Iowa.

MINUTES OF THE AUGUST MEMBERSHIP MEETING

The August 1, 2006 membership meeting was called to order by RE Paul Morrison at 8:00 PM with 16 members and 1 guest present with a hearty ‘welcome’ and ‘thank you’.

The Treasurer /Membership reports (200 with dual members) reports were approved on a motion by Tom Nutter, second by Bill Kasmer. The minutes for July were approved on a motion by Sandi Kryder, second by Nina Caruso after the correction was noted regarding the return date for Richard Dunlap from the Run-Offs.

OLD BUSINESS:
The Driver School final deficit is $8189.61.
The National has $3580.72 to the good.
The 12-hour race may be a 24-hour race held over Labor Day 2007.
Worker Incentive Program may develop a plan to entice more members to the monthly meetings as well as track appearances.
Vintage Race in Pittsburgh was “a great time” – so says Cliff McCandless.
Brat Bash had terrific MVR representation.

NEW BUSINESS:
Entries will be out the beginning of September for the MVR October Double. Sandi Kryder is filling the lead slots. Sound is still needed.
SCCA is offering free to each region Officers / Directors Insurance that covers ‘errors / omissions.’
Board members should email Paul Morrison preferable dates to hold a board meeting soon.
Discussion regarding ‘minor blue cards’ to be issued for any SCCA event. Often the track requests an additional form to be completed even though the SCCA form ‘should’ cover any minor.
The new president of SCCA has requested regular input for all RE’s on the path the club should be going in the future.
return to a club
lose the pro racing
quit changing classes that work
member retention

Meeting adjourned at 8:33 PM on a motion by Sandi Kryder, second by Bill Kasmer.

Respectfully submitted by Pam Petrusko
